CommWell Health recently announced that Jorge A. Farrat, MD is the new Chief Medical Officer of the organization.
Dr. Farrat, a board certified physician specializing in family medicine and emergency medicine has more than 30 years of experience providing quality medical care to people of all ages.
He is a graduate of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University and completed his training as a family physician at Downstate University Hospital of SUNY Brooklyn, New York. Dr. Farrat is a tremendous asset to the staff of CommWell Health as he has a rich history of experience working within private practice setting and hospitals. He brings to the organization expertise in organizational management within a wide variety of disciplines including hospitals, emergency medicine, ambulatory care settings and residency training programs.
Dr. Farrat worked as a family physician serving underserved areas in Brooklyn, Queens and New York in association with the Catholic Medical Centers and hospitals. He will be a great asset for CommWell Health as he has valuable experience as a physician surveyor for the Joint Commission Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations and as a clinical instructor of Emergency Medicine and as an Associate Clinical Professor of Family Medicine at the NY Medical College.
He is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American Medical Association, American Association of Physician Specialists and the American College of Physician Executives.
