CLINTON — Mr. Larry Waddell McNeal, 64, of 2585 Isaac Weeks Road, died Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2012 at his home.

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, at Sampson Chapel on U.S. 421 North, Clinton, with Pastor Dwight Merritt officiating. Burial will be held Wednesday, Jan. 9, at Sandhills State Veteran Cemetery in Spring Lake.

Mr. McNeal was born on Jan. 30, 1947 to Willie McNeal and Hattie Brooks. He was a Vietnam veteran as he served in the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Freddie McNeal Sr.

He is survived by a daughter, Portia Pritchard; son, Larry W. McNeal Jr.; sisters, Ruthie Fletcher and Lola White, both of Pomona, Calif., Ola Darden of Clinton; Katie Bartee and Juanita Newby, both of Cleveland, Ohio; and brothers, Tilford McNeal of Clinton and Willie Bob McNeal of Compton, Calif.

A public viewing will be held from 2 until 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4, at Hope Valley Chapel, with family present from 6 to 7 p.m.

The McNeal family has entrusted Hope Valley Funeral Service & Cremation of Clinton.
