CLINTON — Mrs. Mary “Irene” Inman Puryear, 83, of 2304 Edmond Matthis Road, died in Hospice of Wake County in Raleigh Sunday Dec. 23, 2012.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m., Friday at at Ingold Baptist Church with the Rev. Danny Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Park.

Born in 1929 in Robeson County, Mrs. Puryear was the daughter of the late Luther and Mary Rhuark Inman. A homemaker and retired farmer, Irene was also a devoted mother and a devout Christian who served her Lord at Ingold Baptist Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Wilma Osborne of Clinton and Etta Maynard and husband, Tom of Raleigh; two sons, Tommy Puryear and wife, Beverly of Clinton and Chris Puryear of Clinton; very special niece, Kathleen Townsend of Autryville; and granddaughter, Nicole Osborne.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Thomas Puryear, a son, John Peyton Puryear and granddaughter, Susan Leigh Puryear.

The family will receive friends at Royal-Hall Funeral Home Thursday night from 6 until 8 p.m. and other times at her home.
