On Saturday, Dec. 29, the Ministers and Deacons Union will be held at the Lisbon Street Missionary Baptist Church, Clinton, beginning at 9 a.m. The devotion and praise service will be opened by the deacons of Lisbon Street. The opening session will be by the Rev. Earnest Fryar. The welcome will be by the host pastor, the Rev. Victor Wilson. There will be briefings, moderators and the president of the Association auxiliaries, business session recommendations from the auxiliaries, recommendations from the executive board and the Rev. Dr. Claudie Morrisey. For the youth, talent hour will be Lisbon Street, First Baptist, Brown’s Chapel and Ingold First Baptist Church. The sermon will be delivered by the Rev. Lloyd Thompson of Robinson Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, and the choir will render the music. All area churches are invited to attend.

On Sunday, Dec. 30, the Friendly Trio will give their last Sunday of the year program. “Praying out the old and praying in the new year will be the theme of the program. The guest speaker will be minister Janice Harding of the Running Branch Church. Music will be provided. Those participating will include Together by God of Raleigh; Neal Thomas; brother Chris Eaton; bishop Eddie Atkinson and the Messengers; and J.C. Singletary of Raleigh. Don’t miss this last program of the year; it is sure to be a special one!

Watch Nigh Service will be held at the Red Hill Missionary Baptist Church, Clinton Monday, Dec. 31, from 10:15 p.m. until midnight. There will be an “I am for Christ” program. Two other churches will participate — Saint Jude Disciple of Christ Church of Warsaw and the Last Day Outreach Ministry of Rose Hill — at this service. The host pastor is the Rev. Ray Bolton. Don’t miss this special event.

A New Year’s Eve gospel sing will be held at the Gospel Chapel Church, 1010 McKoy St., Clinton, Monday, Dec. 31, with a covered dish supper at 8 p.m. A singing program will follow with the Easter Brothers and the Easter Family. Bring a covered dish and a family beverage and join in the celebration. The Brown Family will participate as well. Make plans to attend.

A New Year’s revival will be held at First Baptist Church, Roseboro Dec. 26-28 at 7:30 p.m. nightly. The pastor, the Rev. John T. Oliver, will bring the message each night and a different choir will render the music. Everyone is cordially invited to attend.

On Sunday, Dec. 30, regular morning worship service will be held at the Little Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church at 11 a.m. The pastor, the Rev. Harold Boykin, will bring the message and the male chorus will render the music.

New Light Outreach Ministry, 708 Sampson St., Clinton, will have regular morning worship service Sunday, Dec. 30 at 10:30 a.m. The pastor, Regina Lucious, will bring forth the morning message and the male chorus will render the music. On Monday, Dec. 31, at 10 p.m., we will be having a New Year’s Eve service. After the New Year’s Eve service, we will have a New Year’s morning prayer until 6 a.m. Everyone is invited.

On Monday, Dec. 31, the Western Union Missionary Baptist New Year’s Eve service will be held at the Learning Center, the old Charles E. Perry School in Roseboro, beginning at 10 p.m. The Association choir will render the music and moderator John. T. Oliver will bring forth the message. All are invited to attend.

On Sunday, Dec. 30, there will be no regular morning worship service at Brown’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, H.B. Lewis Road, Clinton. There will only be Sunday school at 9:30 a.m.

The Christ Missionary Baptist Church, now located at Salemburg Elementary School, will have its regular morning worship service Sunday, Dec. 30 at 10 a.m. The pastor, the Rev. Marvin T. Clowney, will bring forth the morning message and the choir will render the music. Don’t miss it.
