While following up one investigation last Friday, Sampson County sheriff’s officers found themselves with another probe on their hands, this one a robbery.
According to reports, investigators were on Cricket Lane around 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 10, conducting a follow-up investigation in another matter when a resident of that area approached them and reported a robbery.
The woman, whose name was not released, told officers her 65 Cricket Lane home had been robbed.
According to the victim, around 9 a.m. Friday morning, four males suspects approached her residence, with two of them coming into her home and demanding money.
Although listed as an armed robbery, no weapons were mentioned in the report.
Limited descriptions of the suspects were given by the victim. According to reports, she only said that four males — three of them white, appearing to be of Puerto Rican dissent and one of them black — came to her residence.
An undisclosed amount of cash was taken during the incident, but no one was injured.
Officers are continuing their investigation and ask that anyone who has information on the Cricket Lane robbery contact them at the Sampson County Sheriff’s Department, 910-592-4141.
