Less than five minutes before a bank was robbed in Newton Grove this morning, men out mowing along Brewer Road discovered a dead body.
The two incidents are not believed to be related.
Sampson County sheriff’s officers were called to the scene, near Faison, around 9:10 a.m. Officers, along with Sheriff Jimmy Thornton and medical examinder Dr. Carl Barr, remained on the scene at noon.
Few details are available at this time. The man’s body has not yet been identified.
