A community welcome home
Blue and yellow signs spelling out 'Welcome Home Burl' lined Elizabeth Street at Williamson Gas Wednesday to greet long-time community supporter and businessman Burl Williamson who was returning home for the first time in months after an extended illness. A yellow ribbon was tied to a tree on the company's front lawn, balloons were at Beth's grill and another sign spelling out 'We Love You' dotted the road leading into Williamson's home as well, all a testament to the love and support people across Sampson County have for Williamson and his family. Children from The Learning Station made the signs. (Sherry Matthews/Sampson Independent)
