Two area men are facing multiple felony charges relating to a break-in of a Timothy Road home last week, an incident that comes with a lot of twists and turns but ends with the pair jailed under separate $20,000 bonds.
Sheriff’s reports show that Justin Tyler Allen, 25, 176 Hinson Road, Dunn, and Jeffrey Lynn Horne, 27, 193 Rock Hollow Drive, Dunn, were both taken into custody Monday and charged with felony counts of second degree burglary, larceny after breaking and entering and possession of stolen goods.
The incident occurred on Dec. 9 when residents of the Timothy Road home returned to their residence to find someone had broken through a bedroom window, entered the property and taken an assortment of items, including a 42-inch television, a video console, clothes and jewelry.
Through investigation, Horne was placed at the scene. Officers were told of a second suspect with Horne at the time of the incident, believed to have occurred between 8 and 9 p.m. The second suspect was later alleged to be Allen.
Both men were taken into custody and charged.
But there were twists to the incident, including that the two suspects were attacked after leaving the Timothy Road residence by four suspects in a vehicle traveling down Rock Hollow Lane.
Reports note that Horne claimed he took Allen to the residence, dropped him off and later picked him up on a 4-wheeler. As the two were traveling, they were approached by a vehicle carrying three to four men who reportedly jumped out of the car and tried to attack the pair. Shots were reportedly fired from those suspects and Horne claimed he was struck with a pistol. He was transported to Betsy Johnson Regional Hospital for treatment.
In the end, the two men were charged with the felony offenses. Some of the property, reports note, was recovered.
