GARLAND — Three teenagers have been arrested on robbery and kidnapping charges after allegedly breaking into the home of another teen, luring him out of the home and assaulting him at gunpoint, according to reports from Sampson County Sheriff’s authorities.
The incident was reported at 12:23 a.m. Friday at 57 White Lake Ave., Garland. Reports state that Quamine Goodwin, 19, of the home, was the victim in the robbery and assault. Sheriff’s Cpl. Marcus Smith said three suspects, all black males, were taken into custody following the report of the robbery.
Arrested were Tavis Autry, 19, of 469 Ezzell Road, Clinton; Andreais Bronson, 19, of 185 Ezzell Road; and Kenya Robinson, 17, of 55 Old U.S. 701 Hwy., Clinton. All three were charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon; conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon; and first-degree kidnapping.
“The suspects went to the victim’s residence, lured him out of the home and when they got him outside, they held him at gunpoint and assaulted him,” said Smith.
During the assault, Goodwin was able to free himself and ran into the home, returning with a firearm, indicated in reports as a 12-gauge shotgun. “The suspects started running and he fired upon the suspects as they started fleeing,” Smith noted. “No one was hit.” Goodwin sustained minor injuries as a result of the assault.
A door frame was damaged during the break-in and a $20 bill was stolen. The suspects were taken into custody shortly into the investigation by sheriff’s authorities.
Autry, Bronson and Robinson were each placed in the Sampson County Detention Center under $200,000 bond for the felony offenses.
