In memory of Mack
Hundreds of blue and white ribbons hung on a tree just to the left of the front door to Midway Middle School Tuesday morning, along with two white ribbons hanging in the doorway of the school, in memory of student Mackinley “Mack” Waters. Students at the school spent a good portion of Monday morning writing messages on the ribbons, a Native American tradition called "Prayer Ties", that are believed that will be carried by the wind to Mack. Hundreds of blue and white ribbons hang from a tree just to the left of Midway Middle School’s front door Tuesday morning, along with two white ribbons hanging in the doorway of the school, all in memory of student Mackinley “Mack” Waters. Midway Middle students spent a good portion of Monday morning writing messages on the ribbons, a Native American tradition called ‘Prayer Ties,’ which says the messages will be carried by the wind to Mack. The 13-year-old was killed Friday night in an ATV accident.
