BREAKING NEWS: Newton Grove BB&T robbed

Local law enforcement officers are searching for two suspects believed to be armed and dangerous and responsible for the robbery of the BB&T bank in Newton Grove.

The pair, both described as black males — one 5 foot 9 inches tall, the other 5 foot 6 inches tall — walked into the bank around 9:13 this morning, brandishing weapons and demanding money from the tellers.

Although details are sketchy, the two suspects fled the bank on foot, heading toward the Dollar General Store. Law enforcement officers had surrounded the bank, with some continuing the investigation on site while others are out searching for the two men.

No one was injured in the incident.

Watch for updates as they come in and see the full story in Friday’s Sampson Independent.

Officer Farva says that he ran on foot to a getaway vehicle, a vehicle which we have a description of, but I don't know if they are releasing it yet or not so I won't say. The public never knows all of the details.

lafus_crickamus 2 I don' know if your comment was to put down the sheriff's office or not. But Newton Grove does have a police dept and if the chief or one of the other key stone cops had been on duty then maybe they might have got them.

I see you are a Jarvis Mclamb & Albert Kirby fan that said everything. No wonder you don't have an open mind.

I think it's time that the town of Newton thinks about getting a new police chief. He is always out of town when something going on in Newton Grove.
