Miss Hobbton and her court
Regan Chavez was crowned as the new Miss Hobbton Saturday night. She is pictured here with her court. Kaylan Sinclair, first runnerup, is a sophomore and a member of the group Voices of the Heart. Chavez is a sophomore who is active in theatre and band. Second Runner-Up is Mikayla McLamb also a sophomore who is active in her community through her platform Love to Dance. Third Runner-Up is Mary Thompson is a senior who plans on attending Mt. Olive College in the fall. Casey Hobbs was the sponsorship award winner with Mary Thompson and Alicia Robinson being named Honorable Mention for the sponsorship award and Blair Bradshaw was named Miss Congeniality. Melvin crowned Miss Greater Cape Fear Outstanding Teen
Shannon Melvin was crowned Miss Greater Cape Fear Outstanding Teen at Campbell University last month. She will compete on the state level at the Miss NC Outstanding Teen in June. Students from Tracy Hatcher's third block Foods I class were awarded the Best Biscuit Making certificate for their performance in making homemade biscuits.  Students demonstrated procedures for making homemade biscuits by hand.    Students were able to taste their end products and were very well pleased with results. Darden earns Eagle Scout Award
Fifteen-year-old Reid Edward Darden, a ninth grader at Clinton High School, received the Eagle Scout Award at his Court of Honor in February. He is with Trooper 27 from Graves Memorial Presbyterian Church. He completed the award in December 2012 which was the 100th anniversary of the first Eagle Scout Award.
