Bus Roadeo winners announced On Tuesday, April 16, Sampson County Schools Transportation Department held the 27th Annual School Bus Roadeo at East Park Cinema. Each Sampson County School and each Clinton City School sent a representative to compete for the title of the best skilled driver. The 21 drivers completed a course with seven skills showing how well they drove a bus. First place trophy and title of best driver went to Chris Owens, representing the Clinton High School drivers. Second place winner was Connie Hope from Union Elementary School, and third place was Jeannie Dale from Midway Elementary School. Three Sampson County residents are facing felony break-in charges after deputies, responding to a call, caught them as they were reportedly trying to flee the residence. Some tobacco is still in the greenhouses of Sampson County. According to Cooperative Extension agent Wayne Batten, adverse weather has delayed farmers in getting the crop to the field. Scientists to pay visit to CHS next week
