What is the best way to remember information for that next big test? Greg Orr, a fifth grade student at Plain View Elementary, might have discovered the answer to that age old question. Orr received first place at the Southeast Regional Science Fair for his project titled ‘What Makes Us Remember?’ The intent of his experiment was to determine if people have better visual memory or auditory memory. According to Orr’s science teacher Joy Chambers, he tested fellow 5th graders at Plain View Elementary and discovered that visual memory tends be more dominant when dealing with short term memory. Orr will represent Sampson County at the State Science Fair on March 27.
