Last weekend, the town of Roseboro celebrated the start of May with a community event — the May Day Affair — on Saturday, May 4. Dark Horse senior Demontio Bryant saw years of hard work pay off last week when he signed his Letter of Intent to play basketball at Wesleyan College near Rocky Mount. Bryant is the first of Clinton’s nine seniors from the basketball team to announce his intentions after graduation. Handy Mart/Mount Olive College tourney brings in over $90,000 for student scholarships
MOUNT OLIVE – Approximately $90,000 was raised this year from the 27th Annual Handy Mart – Mount Olive College Invitational Golf Tournament held at Southern Wayne Country Club. This year’s proceeds bring the total amount raised since the event began in 1987, to over $2.3 million dollars. Spartans claim conference golf championship
Union won the final conference match of the year last Wednesday at River Landing Golf Club to capture the conference championship. Tyler Ross was medalist of the match with an 81. Griffin Faircloth played well enough to hold off Evan Johnson for the Tri-County Conference Player of the Year title. Faircloth shot 85 to defeat Johnson by 7 stokes on the season.
