Sampson County high school football teams will hit the gridiron as part of Friday’s Pigskin Jamboree, which will showcase five local schools and give coaches and players a chance to show what their team has in store for the upcoming season.

It will also allow the teams to see what they need to work on before the official start of the 2016 high school football season.

Teams participating include Hobbton, Lakewood, Midway, Union and Clinton. The format will allow each team to go toe to toe against each other, twice on offense and defense. Each match will last about 10 minutes with the clock running continuously. Two teams will be on the east end and two teams will be on the west end of Dark Horse Stadium the entire evening.

Gates will open at 6:15 p.m. and kick off is scheduled for 7 p.m. Admission is $7. Concessions will also be available.

Facing off in the Pigskin Jamboree will be Midway’s Austin Raynor, Clinton’s Ryheem Skinner, Hobbton’s Raekwon Bryant, Union’s Chris Nash and Lakewood’s Akili Underwood. Also pictured are cheerleaders Aubrey Williams, Madison Brantley and Gecobi Wilson.
