The Hobbton Wildcats hosted the Lakewood Leopards in soccer Monday afternoon and came away with a 2-1 win.

“It was a typical Monday game. We came out flat. We weren’t ready for the game,” said Hobbton coach Jonathan Jacobs. “Lakewood came out and jumped on us early. I’m real proud of my boys for fighting the whole game and coming back. We tied it right before the half. Then, we controlled the game the second half. It was a big win for us.”

Scoring for the Wildcats were Jair Sanchez and Christian Vega, with assists by Cesar Castillo and Oscar Pacheo.

“This is probably the best Lakewood team I have played against,” Jacobs said. “They are really good. They fought the whole time. They are good all around.”

The Wildcats are now 3-1 in conference play and 4-5-1 overall. They travel to Spring Creek Wednesday.
