The Lady Wildcats are on a roll, winning four out of their last five games. They played at James Kenan on Tuesday night and ripped the Lady Tigers, 3-0. The scores were not very close, with the Wildcats winning 25-14, 25-14, and 25-18.

The Tigers would jump out to a 12-10 lead in the second set, but Hobbton’s Mackenzie Williams would go on a serving frenzy, serving up 13 consecutive points to rally her team to a 23-14 lead. The Wildcats would add the final two points to get the win.

“We focused on not allowing them to get on a big run and our offense played really well and we had some excellent serves,” said Hobbton Coach Russell Jones.

With the victory, Hobbton pushes its record to 10-5 overall and 6-3 in the Carolina Conference. They will travel to Princeton on Thursday.

The junior varsity also won 2-0 in a very close match, 25-22 and 25-23. Sarah Suggs had a solid outing to lead the JV squad, which is now 6-7 overall and 4-5 in conference play.

Hobbton’s Delaney Thornton returns a volley on Tuesday afternoon at James Kenan. The Wildcats took a 3-0 win to extend their record to 10-5 overall and 6-3 in the conference.
