Coming off a 40-36 win at Union Friday night, the Hobbton Wildcat women lost their first conference game to the Rosewood Eagles 75-36 Tuesday night at Hobbton.
The game was all Eagles who led the whole game. They were up 13-7 after one quarter and increased that margin to 38-20 at the half. In the final two quarters, the Eagles built on that lead up by 30 at 59-29 after three quarters.
Nina Devone had 25 points for the Wildcats. Rosewood’s Braylee Butts led the scoring with 28 points.
“We started off a little flat tonight,” Hobbton coach Leonard Henry stated. “We played a better second half. Hats off to Rosewood, they did a wonderful job tonight. We have to go back to the drawing board and work on some things as we have a game at Spring Creek Thursday. Hopefully we will have a little bit more fire and enthusiasm Thursday than we did tonight.”
