Mintz Christian’s Erynn Sessoms goes for kill in Mintz’s straight-sets win over the Knights.

The Mintz Christian Academy Lady Lions continued their winning ways Tuesday in a road match against conference rival Liberty Christian.

The Lions took the first set 25-19 led by Erynn Sessoms, who served eight straight points taking the Lions from a 16-19 deficit to a 23-19 lead, and they never looked back finishing 25-19.

The second set was owned by the Lions, jumping out to a 14-2 lead off the hot serving of Sessoms, who recorded four aces. The MCA attack was complemented by Courtney Barber dishing out 18 assists on the night.

The third set was much like the first. Liberty fought back and the set was close until Taylor Faircloth reeled off five straight points.

“Our girls worked very hard tonight. Our offense was clicking with freshman Reagan Warren stepping up with six kills from the right side and another strong performance by Emma White in the middle,” Coach Dan Heinz stated.

The Lions will be back at home Thursday to face Berean Baptist Academy.
