The visiting Rosewood Eagles beat the Union Spartans in dominating fashion 3-0 in volleyball action on Thursday.

In the first set of the match the Spartans got off to a quick lead, but the Eagles quickly took the lead and went on to a big lead of 21-5. After some good serves by Latyra English and Hannah Smith, the Spartans cut the lead to 22-11. Rosewood stepped up and took the first game by the score of 25-11.

The second set didn’t get much better for Union going down big early.

The second set of the match saw the Eagles get a big lead of 7-0 to start. After a timeout the Spartans, started putting points on the board, but Rosewood held on to take game two by a score of 25-15.

The third and finally set of the match saw a similar outcome to that of the previous set.

Once again, the Spartans would fall behind early in the third set of the match. The Eagles were just too much for the Spartans today as they won game three by a score of 25-10.

The loss to the Rosewood Eagles brings UHS to 1-11 on the season. The Spartans will be back on the court Tuesday as the Lakewood Leopards come to southern Sampson county to take on Union.
