Horses split matches against Spring Creek

The Dark Horse lady’s tennis team played its final conference match of the season Thursday against Spring Creek, splitting their two matches 5-2 and 5-4.

In the first match of the day, where the Horses claimed victory, was a make up make from earlier in the season that was postponed due to weather.

Horses that contributed to the 5-2 win in match one were Isabella Faison, Cassidy Montgomery, Mattie Byrd and Kendall Spell in singles. Byrd, who teamed up with Rebekah Byrd, and the two were able to clinch the win for CHS in their doubles match.

The second face off of the day didn’t go as well for the Horses, and the Gators won the match by one point.

Singles winners for the Dark Horses included Smith, Faison, Nyjah Bryant and Jayda Bryant.

The Gators out played Clinton in doubles and swept them to secure the win.

With the split matches against the Spring Creek Gators, Clinton finishes their conference season with a record of 6-4 and is 7-5 overall.

They will play their final match of the season at Harrells Christian Academy Monday.
