Thursday saw another home game and victory for Lakewood volleyball as they stomped Hobbton in their game, sweeping them.

Winning 3-0 over Hobbton, the match was rather quick, as coach Shelia Davidson and her Leopards seem to have gotten their games down to a science winning their sixth straight.

The Leopards controlled the match the entire night completely dominating the Wildcats, specially in set two where they blew them out.

LHS took set one by a score of 25-17, then owned set two winning it 25-8 and finished the night in set three, the same as in set one 25-17.

“We remain undefeated in the conference and are on a winning streak,” said Davidson. “We’ll be ending in about a week and the senior varsity team will be going to the playoffs.”

Each shot was set up like a well-oiled machine even if the match felt low energy compared to most of Lakewood’s larger games.

Lakewood stands at a winning streak of 6 with an overall win-loss ratio of 15-3. What’s more their three loses were during non-conference games making Lakewood undefeated in conference play at 9-0.

Lakewood is currently number one in the standing and for good reason.

The season is ending in the next week and the senior varsity team will began preparing for the playoffs. Lakewood will be playing away against Rosewood Tuesday before playing their final match of the season at home on Oct. 12.
