Horses trample Spring Creek, 5-0


Sammy Sutter races between two Spring Creek defenders in Clinton’s 5-0 win Wednesday night. The Horses scored four goals in the first half as the Gators couldn’t slow them down. The first came from Peter Darden less than a minute into the game. Reid Taylor added the second goal at nine minutes and Ivan Ponce put in a couple before halftime, at the 27- and 29-minute marks. Taylor scored the final goal of the night in the second half at 52 minutes, giving them the Horses a 5-0 victory. Ponce now sits at 28 goals, just one shy of tying the single-season record. He had the opportunity Thursday night as the 16-4 Horses took on Cape Fear at home.
