The Carolina 1-A soccer conference champion Hobbton Wildcats finished their Senior Night in a big way with a rout of Neuse Charter in a conference match Monday night.

The game was over at the break as the Wildcats scored 10 in the first half.

“It was a great way to send our seniors out in the last home game of the season,” commented Hobbton coach Jonathan Jacobs. “We had every senior score except the goalie and one that was hurt, so I thought it was a good day. We moved the ball well. I know with a score like that you would think it was just attack, attack, attack. However, we moved the ball well to create those chances. It wasn’t just kick the ball and try to outrun someone. We have one more game and we are ready for North Duplin. We hope to finish the season undefeated in conference play.”

Scoring for the Wildcats were Jair Sanchez and Ramiro Perez, who each scored two. Larry Favela, Andres Escalera, Victor Aquille, Irvin Castillo, David Molina and Gustavo Ventura each scored a goal apiece.

The Wildcats currently sit at 16-4-2 overall and are still undefeated in the conference at 14-0. They travel to North Duplin Wednesday night to finish off the regular season.
