The young JV Dark Horses of Clinton are on fire increasing their winning streak to seven in a row Thursday, trouncing the Wallace-Rose Hill Bulldogs, 52-34.

There was very little defense as the game was full of nonstop action with both offenses shooting it out, trading scores and leads one after another all in just the first half. Less than four minutes into the first quarter the score was already 8-8. Both teams capped off really quick scoring drives on long touchdown runs, following them with converted two-point plays.

After about a minute and a half the young Bulldogs were back on the scoreboard on another run, this time on the goal line, at 5:20. They failed on the two-point conversion this time put still putting them ahead 14-8.

Clinton answered back immediately tearing off huge yardage on the following kick return by J’Daques Wallace. With excellent field position the Horses were in for the score on a goal line run of their own by Ja’Melle Williams at 4:53. They converted on the two point giving them the lead at 16-14.

The score fest didn’t stop their with the Wallace special teams providing a score right after the Clinton touchdown. Running the kickoff all the back for another touchdown for the Bulldogs. They failed on the two point try again but took the lead back with 4:42 left in the first quarter.

The second quarter was all Clinton, putting up two more unanswered touchdowns and having a 12-point lead by halftime.

The first touchdown of the second didn’t come until 7:07 when Cameron Armwood carried one right up the middle for big yards that ended in the score. Clinton was good on another two point conversion and took back the lead 24-20.

Armwood would score the second touchdown in the final minutes on the half at 1:04. He had big carry again that resulted in the score and with yet another successful two point try the lead was 32-20.

The second half was much slower with the Dark Horses putting up 20 more points and Wallace adding 14 more. With this the game ended with Clinton claiming the 52-34 victory.

With the streak being extended to seven, the Clinton Dark Horses now sit at 7-2 on the season and head to face East Duplin on Thursday.
