Last weeks picks resulted in a 3-1 record as Clinton’s offense dominated East Balden, Lakewood narrowly got past North Duplin, and Midway handily defeated Pender. Hobbton proved to be a stumbling block when they picked up the Homecoming win over Spring Creek. That brings the season record at 20-6.

This week Clinton travels to Midway in a Four County Conference rivalry. Clinton is fresh off the dominating win over previously unbeaten East Bladen. The Dark Horse offense should continue to pile up the yards against the Raiders. Clinton’s defensive speed will give the Raiders nightmares when they have the ball. The Dark Horses continue their march through the Four County Conference with a lopsided win.

Final Score: Clinton- 52 Midway- 14

Lakewood returns home this week to face the Rosewood Eagles, after scratching out a win at North Duplin last week. Lakewood seems to be gaining momentum on offense and their defense continues to be solid. Rosewood is coming off of a big win over James Kenan and could have a let down. Lakewood pulls out a close one.

Final Score: Lakewood- 21 Rosewood- 16

Hobbton travels to Princeton to face the winless Tigers. Hobbton comes off a win over Spring Creek and look to even their record against the Tigers. Hobbton’s defense was solid against Spring Creek and offensively the ‘cats lit up the scoreboard. The Wildcats should bring back the win over the hapless Tigers.

Final Score: Hobbton- 20 Princeton- 6

In the Game of the Week, Union plays the 1A Defending State Champions, Wallace- Rose Hill. The Bulldogs are coming into this game with only one loss, an early season stumble to James Kenan. The Spartans have been the surprise team this year in the county with a record of 3-2 and they have been competitive in every game they have played. The Spartans will keep things interesting against the Bulldogs, but Wallace-Rose Hill with overpower the Spartans, dropping Union to 3-3 on the season.

Final Score: Union- 21 Wallace Rose Hill- 35

Bonus Game: Union has rescheduled their game against the Trask Titans to Tuesday, October 13 due to wet field conditions. This scheduling change requires Union to play three games in seven days. Union’s defense will make scoring tough for the Titans, while the offense should have a great night. The Spartans get back in the win column, knocking off the Titans.
