The Hobbton Wildcats hosted the Spring Creek Gators Thursday night but Spring Creek. In a hard fought that stayed close throughout the game, Spring Creek got the 74-65 win.
The Wildcats jumped out to a 18-8 lead on the Gators in the 1st quarter. The Gators finally took over the game with 5:08 left in the second quarter when they went up 18-17. They finished the half with a 4-point margin, 33-29.
In the 3rd quarter, the Gators got out to a 10-point spread before the Wildcats cut back to a 4-point lead at the end of the quarter, 45-41. In the final quarter, the spread was never more than 4 points until the last 2 minutes when Spring Creek got an 8-point lead. A foul and a technical foul with 1:21 left gave the Gators an 8-point lead at 67-59.
Leading the Wildcat scoring was Collin King with 20 points. Hunter Britt had 16.
The Wildcats are 0-2 in conference play going into the Union Christmas Tournament Tuesday.
