The Hobbton Lady Wildcat hosted the James Kenan Tigers Wednesday night in conference basketball action. The Tigers dominated the Wildcats taking a 52-41 win home.

The Tigers jumped out to a 10-point, 17-7, lead in the first quarter and held that lead and extended it into the break with a 30-18 margin. Late in the third period, the Wildcat cut the lead to 5 points and kept it there for a couple of minutes. James Kenan had a 41-36 lead after 3 quarters. The Wildcats kept it close for part of the final frame but James Kenan pulled away at the end.

Shavonia Bell was playing in her second game since the first game of the season when she was tripped up and slid into the wall breaking her foot. She had a good game Wednesday night.

The Wildcats played 2 overtimes at Princeton Tuesday night before downing the Bulldogs.

Coach Leonard Henry said, “I’m proud of our girls tonight. They played a double overtime last night (Tuesday) against Princeton. Playing back to back is a challenge but you have to play the hand you are dealt. James Kenan played back to back as well so, no excuses. Our execution of the small things did not come to place tonight. We’ll go back to the drawing board and get ready for Friday night at Neuse Charter.”
