The Boys basketball playoff brackets have been set, and although all but one county team got a bid, only one is set to play at home and is predicted to advance to the second round. Clinton is the lone home team, and Midway, Lakewood and Hobbton are set to make road trips to try to pull off first round upsets.

Clinton gets their playoffs started by hosting First Flight on Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m. The Dark Horses are the 9th seed in the East Region of the 2A State Playoffs. Look for them to cruise to a first round victory. A win in round 1, would possibly set up an interesting second round playoff game at home as well.

The Dark Horses could have to play Midway in a round 2 game, although it would take the Raiders pulling off an upset. Midway is set to travel to Franklinton on Tuesday, the 8th overall seed. Midway is the 25 seed in the East Region, but are very capable of pulling off the win. Their record is in no way indicative at how good of a team they are when they are clicking.

Hobbton takes on a familiar foe in round 1 of the playoffs, as they are set to travel to Neuse Charter on Tuesday evening. Neuse Charter one the Carolina 1A Conference, the same conference Hobbton and Lakewood are in. Neuse Charter is the 7th seed and Hobbton is 26th in the East.

Lakewood is also set to make a road trip, as they travel to Voyager on Tuesday evening. They are the 28th seeded team in the East and Voyager is 5th. Voyager is a favorite to come out of the East, so it will be a steep task for the Leopards in round 1.

All games are set for 7:30 p.m. tips on Tuesday. For more information on brackets and seedings, visit nchsaa.org.
