The Clinton Dark Horse tennis team traveled to Snow Hill’s Greene Ridge Racket Club for a non-conference match against Greene Central this week, as they hit the court on Monday, March 21.

For the second time this season the Dark Horses downed the perennial tennis power, dominating the Rams in a 7-2 win.

Taking singles matches for the Dark Horses were Zack Darden (6-3 and 6-0), Jared Hall (6-3, 1-6, 1-0), Luke Swartz (6-0 and 6-1), Peter Darden (6-2 and 6-0), and Turner Wells (6-4 and 6-3).

Doubles winners were John Fox teamed with Jared Hall taking the 8-4 win and Luke Swartz teamed with Peter Darden posting an 8-4 victory in their match.

It has been a very impressive start to the season for the Dark Horses, as they have trampled the competition each time they’ve taken the court.

Dark Horse head coach, Robert Jones was pleased with his team’s play on Monday and has been pleased for the season.

“It’s a good start for the guys, and we are doing some good things right now,” he said. “Hopefully we can keep things going and keep playing well. It is a solid start to the season and we are pleased with being 7-0 right now.”

Clinton is now 7-0 on the season and will begin conference play after spring break with a match at West Bladen on Wednesday, April 6.
