Mintz Christian Academy started their baseball season with a bang, beating Liberty Christian of Hope Mills on Tuesday. April 5. The Lions proved victorious as they walked away with a 9-5 win to start off their 2016 season. After giving up a run in the top of the first, Mintz answered by putting up four in the bottom and never relinquished the lead.

Lions sophomore shortstop, Josh Davis, went 3-4 with a RBI and accounted for three of the Mintz runs. Senior pitcher, Dillon Pilkington, pitched a dominating game and managed to go 2-3, coming across the plate twice, with three RBIs after his inside-the-park homerun.

Other Lion runs included 7th grader Daniel Matthews, who scored twice, and senior Christopher Matthews, who also crossed the plate twice.

Mintz looks to continue these successes as they look to future games against Antioch, Columbus, and Scotland Christian, later this month. For more information on Mintz Christian Academy Athletics, visit them online at mcanc.com.
