The Mintz Christian Academy baseball team traveled to Columbus Christian Academy in Whiteville on Monday April 25. The Lions put up a total of 13 runs, defeating Columbus by 10 in five innings. MCA recorded 12 hits and 12 stolen bases in their win on Monday afternoon. Senior Dillon Pilkington, sophomore Josh Davis, and sixth grader Nate Small were responsible for three of the Lions’ hits apiece.

Mintz showed their quickness as the Lions displayed aggressive base running.

On the mound, Josh Davis got the start and went 4 innings, giving up only 3 runs. Then, in the fifth inning, Pilkington was brought in to finish the game.

Pilkington faced just 3 batters and struck out the side to end the game. The Lions improve to 4-1 on the year and look to finish the season strong Tuesday, May 3, at Antioch Christian in Lumberton.
