The Hobbton Wildcat baseball team finished a game interrupted Thursday by a storm with a strong effort and a 3-0 win. It was a win over conference foe, James Kenan.

Hobbton coach Chris Carroll said, “Our guys came out tonight and were aggressive. They played very well. I want congratulate our defense who played an all around superb game tonight. Every single person was prepared, they were energized, they were ready to go. We got off to a good start early. Greg (Herring) and Mason Wilson had base hits today. Hunter (Britt) had a base hit for us.

“I want to give a shout-out to Greg and Mason for the way they played offensively and well as defensively. Our team is starting to come together. We see the chemistry…we’ve been talking family all along and we are working every day to become more like a family. We have many more games to play and are excited about what the future holds for Hobbton.”

The Wildcats host North Duplin Tuesday night for senior night, weather permitting, and travel to Lakewood Thursday for the final regular season game.
