The Sampson Middle School soccer team took down the Midway Lady Raiders at Midway to finish off an undefeated season and claim the county tournament championship.

It was an 8-0 route for the top-seeded Lady Dark Horses, who scored 4 goals in each half in a game that was never really in doubt.

“It was a really great season and it was really cool to cap it off with a championship game win,” said Sampson Middle School head coach, Grayson Ward. “It was exciting with the type of great season that we had and it was exciting to win the game in that fashion that we did.”

As for Midway, their run was good enough to claim a runner-up spot in the conference during head coach, Kacey Wrench’s first season at MMS.

The Clinton soccer program continues to have a large amount of success at every level, and this group of middle school students are projected to pick right up at the level that high school has consistently played at for some time.
