The Clinton United U17 boys soccer team went to Duluth, GA, this past weekend, May 14-16, to participate in the Atlanta Fire United Select Elite Cup.

The team played two games on Saturday. The first game was played against SSA Chelsea Select from Georgia, and the Clinton United team got the 4-1 win.

In the second game, the local team played Athens United Gold from Athens, Georgia, and tied at 1-1 in a very physical game.

On Sunday, they played in the semi-final game against the top-seeded team in the other bracket, Atlanta Fire Elite, and won 3-1.

They then played in the championship game against Athens United Gold, who they had tied the day before. In the final, Clinton United took down Athens United Gold by a score of 1-0.

The win came after Clinton got on the board with a goal scored in the last three minutes of the game. It was an exciting game that ended in dramatic fashion, per the club.
