Who is on the Lord’s side?

Thousands of years ago God, out of His own good pleasure, decided to have a people to Himself. God said to this selected group of people, “I will be your God and you will be my people.”

In fact, in the Book of Exodus, God said, “If you will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then you shall be unto me, a peculiar treasure unto me above all people of the earth, for all of the earth belongs to me.”

We all know God’s first chosen people were the children of Israel. God started with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. He later selected Moses as the leader to his chosen people. Through and with Moses, God did great things for His people. He led them out of bondage and captivity from Egypt. He fixed it so they could leave Egypt with wealth. He did the mighty miracle of parting the Red Sea. He guided them by day with a cloud and with a pillar of fire by night. He fed them in the morning and He fed them at night.

God did all of these wonderful things through Moses and as time went on, the people fell into the trap of putting their faith and confidence in Moses instead of remaining faithful to God. Scripture reveals that as soon as the people thought and wondered if Moses would ever come down from the Mount, they went back to their old ways.

Exodus 32:2 says, “And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down out of the mount, the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron, and said unto him…’Get up Aaron, make us gods, which shall go before us;’ for as far as this Moses, the man that brought us out of the land of Egypt, we don’t know what has come of him.”

As a result, the people made themselves a golden calf and started to worship the calf. They even began to give the molten calf credit for bring them out of Egypt. As always, God saw all that had happened and He told Moses to go back down to the people because they had corrupted themselves. God also said they had turned aside from Him and they were a stiff-necked people.

What God saw then, He is seeing the same thing today.

God saw that His people had put all of their trust, faith and confidence in man and the same is true today. Today this country and the Body of Christ is divided because both the country and the Body of Christ have corrupted themselves by putting their faith in man.

The country is divided because one side has its faith in Donald Trump while the other side is still resting in Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. And in essence, both the Republican and Democratic Parities have corrupted themselves.

In the Body of Christ, as I have stated in previous articles, the church has corrupted itself by aligning with one party or the other. The church has further corrupted itself by, in some factions, placing all of their confidence and faith in preachers and pastors.

God is asking the same question today as He did through Moses. Who is on the Lord’s side? God is asking every Republican and Democrat, who claim to be a child of God, who among you is on the Lord’s side? God is asking every persons of every race, who claim to be a child of God, who among you is on the Lord’s side?

God is asking every pastor who declares to have been called by God to preach, who among you is on the Lord’s side instead of following the rules and guidelines of your denomination so you can ensure your next paycheck?

In the midst of complete chaos, war and rumors of wars, real and fake news, black lives matters and white lives matters and all of the complete stupidity over statutes, God is asking, “Who is on the Lord’s side?”

We are doing all of this fighting and posturing over statues when we should be arguing and fighting about putting prayer and discipline back in our schools. In the midst of all of these preachers who parade themselves in front of the cameras at every news event to receive vain glory for themselves, God simply wants to know, who among you is on the Lord’s side?

Who is on the Lord’s side when He says, “I am God and besides me there is no other.” In some of our churches, especially the Black Church, pastors and preachers allow their congregates to treat them like God and as a result many are operating under various types of seducing spirits whereby their leaders are a modern day version of the molten calf.

Who is on the Lord’s side, when He says, “I am the same yesterday, today and forever.” Everyone is trying to come up with some new thing to attract young people. Just give them God and His word.

Who is on the Lord’s side when he says, “Homosexuality and in essence, same sex marriages is an abomination to me.” The words of Barack Obama and the Democratic Party will become void, but the words of God will never return unto Him void.

I could go on and on, but the bottom line is this. If you are not on the Lord’s side, then you are on the side of nothing. If you are not standing for what God says, then you stand for nothing.

I have learned from experience, in dealing with both black and white churches from every spector of various denominations, that it takes courage and conviction to be on the Lord’s side. It takes the knowledge of knowing and accepting that for God I live and for God I die. In order to be on the Lord’s side you must love him, not your pastor or local church, with all your heart, mind and soul.

This in no way means that as you stand on the Lord’s side, you are not going to make some mistakes along the way. But it does mean there will be times when you will have to stand alone and take criticism from the misinformed and the uninformed. But be sure, you will not really be alone, for the Lord will always be with you in a most special way when you indeed display to Him that you are indeed on the Lord’s side.
