Area churches holding Mother’s Day services


God’s Flower Garden Banquet will be held at the Western Assembly Building on Friday, May 8, at 7 p.m. The Floral Auxiliary is asking each church to participate in the banquet this year by appointing a team captain to represent your church flower. Tickets are $10 each; children under 10 years old eat free. The church with the most presentation will receive a special prize. As well as being the captain, someone will need to speak on the flower for 3-6 minutes. We are expecting a high time in the Lord, and we need each church to participate in this celebration. On Saturday, May 9, at 5 p.m. a birthday gospel celebration will be held for John Frank Rattley by family and friends at St. Jude Holy Church, Clinton. Various groups will participate on this event. Please join us for some good ole’ gospel singing.

On Saturday, May 9, at 6 p.m. Elizabeth MBC, Autryville, will be honoring women and mothers with a banquet. The speaker for the evening will be Helen Thompson, executive ushers secretary of the National Baptist Convention. Tickets are required for the event. On Saturday, May 9, at 4 p.m., the 2nd Annual Rainbow Tea will be held at Lisbon St. MBC, Clinton. The speaker for the evening, is Maggie Williams. A $15 donation is asked. FMI contact Janice Aderinto, 910-305-4496.

On Saturday, May 9, at 10 a.m., WhoSoEverWill Disciples Church, Newton Grove, will have Women’s Conference. There will be several speakers.

On Sunday, May 10, at 11 a.m. Brown’s Chapel MBC, Clinton will hold a Mother’s Day celebration. The women will render the music.

On Sunday, May 10, at 11 a.m. Women’s and Mother’s Day will be observed at Snowhill MBC, Roseboro. The guest speaker is Minister Destiny Fullwood of Mt. Pleasant M.B. Church, Clinton. The women’s choir will render the music.

On Sunday, May 10, at 11:30 a.m,. Greater Mt. Calvary Holiness Church, Clinton, will celebrate their Mother’s Day. The guest speaker is Pastor Jaunita Leach, choir and congregation of Ebenezer Holiness Church, Mt. Olive. There will be a small Mother’s Day program, following the morning service.

On Sunday, May 10, at 11 a.m., the New Church of Christ, Faison, will observe their Mother’s Day. Apostle Blonny Aycock will minister the word, and the women’s choir will render the music. Dinner will be served following the service.

On Sunday, May 10, at 11 a.m., Mother’s Day will be observed at Lisbon St. MBC, Clinton. Pastor Victor Wilson will minister the word, and the youth choir will render the music.

On Sunday, May 10, at 11 a.m. Mother’s Day, will be observed at Jackson Grove Bible Church of God, Midway. The guest speaker, Elder Sharon Williams, of EverGreen United Holiness Church, Salemburg, will minister the word, and the women’s choir will render the music.

On Sunday, May 10, at 11 a.m. Union Grove Freewill Baptist Church, Keener, will observe Mother’s Day. The guest speaker is Dr. Dorothy Best, of Canaan Disciple Church of Christ, Fayetteville. The women’s choir will render the music.

On Sunday, May 10, at 11 a.m. Cedar Creek MBC, Clinton, will observe Mother’s Day. The guest minister is Rev. Roslyn Melvin, of Little Piney Grove, and the women’s choir will render the music.

On Sunday, May 10, at 11 a.m. Christ MBC, Clinton, will celebrate Mother’s Day, with a special recognition. Pastor Marvin T. Clowney, will minister the word, and the Mother’s Day choir will render the music.

On Sunday, May 10, at 11 a.m. Union Grove Church of Christ, Clinton, will celebrate Mother’s Day.The speaker Elder Connie Murphy, Clinton, will minister the word and the youth choir will render the music.

On Sunday, May 10, at 11 a.m. Mother’s Day, will be observed at Olivet Institutional Baptist Church, Clinton. The speaker, the Rev. Angela Bowden, will ministe rthe word, and the Olivet choir will render the music.

On Sunday, May 10, at 4 p.m., a Shoe Size program will be held at Ram in the Bush Church, Clinton. The guest speaker is pastor Regina Lucious, choir and congregation of New Life Outreach Ministries, Clinton.

On Sunday, May 10, at 11 a.m., Goshen Disciples Church, Faison, will celebrate Women’s Day. Pastor Donald Dewitt will minister the word and the gospel choir will render the music. At 9 a.m. muffins will be served to all mothers.

On Sunday, May 10, at 11 a.m. Mother’s Day will be observed at Holly Grove Church of Christ, Clinton. The guest speaker, Minister Diane Newkirk of Greater Six Runs MBC, Turkey, will minister the word, and the women’s choir will render the music.

On Saturday, May 16, at 9 a.m. Work shops will be held at St. Jude Church of Christ, Warsaw. The theme: Black Girls Do Matter/ Women with authority is the thing. Pastor Everlena Oliver welcome everyone.

On Sunday, May 17, morning service will be held at Christ MBC, Clinton. at 8 a.m.

On Sunday, May 17, at 10 a.m. Mother’s Day will be observed at St. Jude Church of Christ, Warsaw. The guest speaker is Elder Shirley Melvin of St. Rose Church of Christ, Wilson.

On Sunday, May 17, at 11 a.m. Union Grove Church of Christ will host its Annual Women’s Day program. The guest preacher will be Elder Mary Williams. The theme: Prayer-Power and Praise (Act 3:1-8) All women are asked to wear white and purple. Union Grove women’s choir will render the music.

On Sunday May 17, at 11 a.m Women’s Day, will be held at Point Level Disciples of Christ Church, Clinton. Associate Pastor Eldress Charlotte Cooley will minister the word, and the women of Point Level will render the word.
