A traffic stop by sheriff’s deputies netted a slew of meth ingredients and a small amount of the drug, resulting in felony charges against both the vehicle’s occupants.

Agents with the Sampson County Special Investigations Division conducted a traffic stop early Saturday morning on a Ford F-150 operated by Charles Anthony Briza Jr., 37, and passenger Tiffany Dianne Briza, 32, both of 77 Tanner Lane, Autryville.

“During the investigation, agents located lithium batteries, pseudoephedrine, methamphetamine, plastic tubing, lye, instant cold packs, and other items related to the manufacturing of methamphetamine,” Sheriff’s Lt. Marcus Smith said about the stop and eventual arrests.

Approximately 1 gram of meth was seized during the stop, which occurred on South Still Street, Autryville, according to reports.

The Brizas were subsequently charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of meth precursor and possession of drug paraphernalia. Tiffany Briza also received an additional count of possession of meth precursor. Bond was set at $20,000 secured for both.
