Area churches continue Mother’s Day celebrations


On May 13-15 at 7:30 nightly, a three night spring revival will be held at Littlefield MBC, Newton Grove. The guest speaker is the Rev. Leslie Morrisey, of Greater Six Runs MBC, Turkey. Tonight, Mt. Zion MBC choir, Dunn, will render the music. Thursday, Cedar Creek Disciples of Christ Church choir, Princeton. Friday, Greater Six Runs MBC choir, Turkey.

On Sunday, May 17, at 11 a.m. Youth Day Service will be held at White Oak Disciples of Christ Church, Newton Grove. The pastor Bishop Dr. Charles J.Williams Sr. will minister the word, and the youth choir will render the music.

On Saturday, May 16 at 9 a.m. workshops will be held at St. Jude Church of Christ, Warsaw. The theme: Black Girls Do Matter/ Women with authority is the thing.

On Saturday, May 16 at 7 p.m. Candlelight March (Pre-Women Day Celebration) held at Point Level Disciples of Christ Church, Clinton. The guest speaker is Minister Pamela Patterson of Hines Chapel Church, Dothan Alabama.

On Saturday, May 16 at 6 p.m. Pre-Women’s Day Service will be held at Mingle Hill Disciples of Christ Church, Salemburg. The guest speaker for the evening is Eldress Gertie Stevens of Whosoever Will Disciples of Christ Church, Newton Grove.

The conclusion of the Annual Women’s Day Service will be Sunday, May 17 at 11 a.m. Pastor Eddie Parker will deliver the morning message and the women’s choir will render the music.

On Saturday, May 16 at 5 p.m. Princess of Royalty Pageant will be held at Lisbon St. MBC, Clinton.

On Saturday, May 16 11 a.m.-1 p.m., the Friendly Trio and Church Association will give out food bags at the Friendly Community Center, Clinton. FMI: Brother Charles Strickland 910-590-4925.

On Saturday, May 16 at 12 p.m. Women’s Weekend Luncheon will be held at Beaver Dam MBC (Odom Road) Clinton. The guest speaker is Janie Melvin of Roseboro.

On Saturday, May 16, at 9 a.m. Dean Thompson of Greater Mt. Calvary Holiness Church, Clinton, and the son of Presley Thompson and the late Lorette Thompson will graduate from Wingate College, Wingate. At 5 p.m, his grandmother, pastor Ruby T. Boykin, family and friends, will honor him with a dinner at the Hibachi Restaurant, Fayetteville.

On Sunday, May 17 at 11:30 a.m. a double sermon will take place at Greater Mt. Calvary. Pastor Ruby T. Boykin, will minister the first sermon and the second sermon will be by Minister Tanisha Boykin. A congratulations dinner will be served in honor of Dean Thompson following the morning service.

On Sunday, May 17 at 11 a.m. Little Piney Grove MBC, Clinton, will celebrate Mother’s Day. Minister Roslyn Melvin of Little Piney Grove will minister the word and the women’s choir will render the music. Dinner will be served following the service. At 3 p.m. a musical program will be held and the Rev. William Powell will minister the word. Several choirs will participate in the program.

On Sunday, May 17 at 11 a.m. St. Peter U.H.Church, Keener. Guest speaker Minister Wanda William of St. Luke Church, Rosehill, will minister the word and accompany by choir and congregation.

On Sunday, May 17 at 11:15 a.m. Mother’s Day will be observed at Wilson Chapel MBC, Turkey. Pastor Wendell Newton will minister the word and the adult women’s choir will render the music.

On Sunday, May 17 morning service will be held at Christ MBC, Clinton. at 8 a.m..

On Sunday, May 17 at 3 p.m. St. Stephens Holiness Church, Turkey, will celebrate their Annual Memorial Service. The guest speaker is the Rev. Willie Alford, choir and congregation of Poplar Grove Church, Faison.

On Sunday, May 17 at 3 p.m. a mission program will be held at Chapel Hill MBC, Autryville. The guest speaker is Elder Timothy Tucker, choir and congregation of Davis Chapel Church, Spring Lake.

On Sunday, May 17 at 10 a.m. Mother’s Day will be observed at St. Jude Church of Christ, Warsaw. The guest speaker is Elder Shirley Melvin of St. Rose Church of Christ, Wilson.

On Sunday, May 17 at 11 a.m. Union Grove Church of Christ will host its Annual Women’s Day program. The guest preacher will be Elder Mary Williams. The theme: Prayer-Power and Praise (Act 3:1-8) All women are asked to wear white and purple. Union Grove women’s choir will render the music.

On Sunday, May 17 at 3 p.m. Jackson Grove Bible Church of God, Midway, is having a Building Fund Program. The guest speaker for the evening is Pastor Calvin Deans, choir and congregation of Running Branch Disciples of Christ Church, Clinton.

On Sunday, May 17 at 11 a.m Women’s Day will be held at Point Level Disciples of Christ Church, Clinton. Minister speaking Associate Pastor, Eldress Charlotte Cooley, will minister the word, and the women choir of Point Level will render the music.

On Sunday, May 17 at 11 a.m Beaver Dam MBC will observe Women’s Day. The guest speaker is the Rev. Pamela Bell of Threshold Deliverance Ministry, Greenville. The women’s choir will render the music.

On Sunday May 20-22 at 7:30 p.m. nightly Pre-Mother’s Day Service will be held at St. Jude U.H. Church, Clinton. The theme is Fill Me Up Lord.The guest speaker is Dr. Hattie Lofton, of Smithfield. Wednesday-Bearskin MBC choir will render the music. Thursday and Friday: combine choir.

On Sunday May 24 at 11 a.m. St. Jude guest speaker for the morning, will be Elder Thelma Waters, of Cooper Chapel Church, Clinton. The women choir will render the music.

On Sunday, May 24 at 11 a.m. Point Level Disciples of Christ Church, Clinton, will observe Family and Friend’s Day. Pastor Dannie Robinson, will minister the word, and the male chorus will render the music.

On Saturday, May 16 at 3 p.m. wedding bells will be ringing for Sekila and Larry at Brown’s Chapel Missionary Church, Clinton.
