Lady Horses kick their way to first victory

The Clinton girls soccer team pounded Cape Fear High School on Monday night in the season opener. Final score was 4-0.

Hannah Smith opened the scoring at the 3:35 mark of the first half.

The Lady Horses took a 2-0 lead with 35:05 left in the game on a goal by Margaret Coleman. Ten minutes later, Sarah Murphy added to the Horses lead by kicking another goal which put Clinton up 3-0. The final score came with just over 7:00 remaining on a goal by Lindsey Bass.

The win gives Clinton a 1-0 record. Their next game will take place on Wednesday night at Cape Fear. Game time, 7 p.m.
