FAISON — Hobbton’s softball team moved to 2-1 Friday as they got the away win against North Duplin.
The Lady Wildcat’s came out swinging the bats. As four of the first five Hobbton batters got base hits, they held a 8-0 lead by the end of the second inning.
With good pitching keeping the North Duplin offense off the base path and a solid defense backing them up, the Hobbton girls pulled out the victory.
“We’ve been playing good defense,” said Hobbton head coach Joel Clark after the game. “Hopefully we can keep the wins coming.”
Hobbton will take on North Johnston Tuesday.
