Despite having little time to practice, the Clinton High junior varsity softball team put up a gallant fight against the Whiteville Wolfpack on Monday afternoon.

The Lady Horses held their own until the fourth inning, when the Wolfpack went ahead by more than 10 runs.

The game was called one inning later with a score of 18-1. Brittany Adams scored the lone run for Clinton.

The Clinton J.V. team played at East Bladen on Wednesday. Final scores of that game were not called in, and Monday’s scores were provided Thursday afternoon.

The J.V. lady Horses play again Tuesday at East Duplin.
