The Lakewood Leopards shut out the Pender Patriots 2-0 last night. Both goals came from Janay Kinlock in the second half.

“Player of the game was Janay Kinlock,” said Leopard coach Jesus Sandoval. “She had a very good individual performance. I felt that overall, our team played exceptional and controlled most of the game. Pender also played well and only had 11 players, which played to our advantage. I would like to congratulate the Midway soccer team on winning the conference tonight. They have worked hard and I hope they represent us well in the state playoffs.”

The win puts the Lady Leopards at 12-2-1 overall and 10-2-1 in Tri-County Conference action. They play Friday at Union in their season finale at 6 p.m.
