Jerry and Trumilla McClarin of Turkey announce the graduation of their son, Jerry Lee McClarin Jr., from North Carolina Central University.

McClarin received his Bachelor of Science degree in recreation administration with concentration in sports management.



Local student serves

as Senate page


The North Carolina Senate was honored recently to have Leah Brooke Cashwell, a student at Clinton High School, serve as a page. She is the daughter of Myron and Tammy Cashwell of Garland. Leah was sponsored by Sen. Brent Jackson and appointed by the Senate President Pro Tempore Phil Berger of Rockingham County.



Capps earns

scholarship


Amery Capps, daughter of Wanda and Joe Caps, recently received the AXA Achievement Community Scholarship. It is a program which provides $2,000 college scholarships to high school seniors across the nation who have demonstrated outstanding achievement in their activities in school, the community or the workplace.

Capps is one of 11 in the state selected as an AXA Achievement Community Scholar. She is a senior at Hobbton High School and will attend Campbell University in the fall where she plans to enter the Pre-pharmacy program.
