The Sampson County Board of Education recently recognized Mathew West, a student at Hobbton High, for placing as a state winner for a FFA Proficiency Award in the area of Fiber and/or Oil Crop Production. He advanced to the national level where he was a bronze finalist. Presenting the award was his teacher, Mr. Jessup.
