ROSEBORO — Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Willard, 81, of 1012 Autry Hwy., passed away on Tuesday, Jan.13, 2009 at Sampson Regional Medical Center.
The funeral will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, at Butler Funeral Home with the Rev. Glen Morgan officiating. Burial will follow at Roseboro Cemetery.
Mrs. Willard was born in 1927 and was a native of Sampson County. She is preceded in death by her husband, Elbert Olen Willard, one son, James Olen Willard, and her mother, Ida Jane Wrench. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Willard is survived by two sons: Lloyd Keith Willard, and Denver Ray Willard, both of Roseboro; six grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.
Family will receive friends Friday evening from 7 until 9 p.m. at Butler Funeral Home, 401 W. Roseboro St., in Roseboro.

CLINTON — Mrs. Burnesteen Peterson, 72, of 120 Southwood Drive, died Monday, Jan. 12, 2009, at UNC Hospitals.
The funeral will be held 1 p.m., Friday, Jan. 16, at Ingold First Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry L. Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillcrest Memorial Park.
She is survived by her daughters, Colander Johnson, Tina Bryant and Galonia Carr of Clinton; Cosanda Auzenne of Raleigh; Retha Purcell and Bernaidine Peterson of Fayetteville; sons, Rellie Peterson, Jr. of Warsaw; Louie Peterson of Wilmington; sisters, Ridlabell Davis, Queen Howard and Essie Howard of Clinton; Beverly Boone and Evelyn Herring of Newburgh, N.Y. brothers, Martin Boone, of Newburgh, N.Y. Charlie Boone, Earl Boone and Elroy Boone of Clinton; 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held today, Jan. 15 from 1 to 7 p.m. at Summerville -Boykin Mortuary.

The funeral will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Jan.16, at Goshen Disciples of Christ.
Visitation will be held Thursday, Jan. 15. from 6 to 8 p.m. at Goshen Disciples of Christ.

TURKEY—Mr. Alejandro Gonzalez Reyes, 31, of 195 Sandy Acres Lane, died Sunday, Jan. 11, 2009, in Cumberland County.
A visitation will be held at 4 p.m., Friday, Jan. 16, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Clinton, followed by the Funeral Mass at 6:30 p.m. at the church. Interment will be held at a later date in Mexico.
