In Psalm 5, David says “my voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O Lord, in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee and look up.”

What’s on your mind when you wake up in the morning ? Is it Jesus and how he has kept you throughout the night? Or is it your daily agenda of phone calls, emails, meetings, all the many activities that we can take on sometimes?

David makes it plain that when he wakes up God is on his mind first and all the other stuff can wait.

How often do you wake up directing your attention, devotion, and voice unto the Lord? When was the last time you woke up and had “a little talk with Jesus” in the morning?

We live in a world that can become so busy that it easy to have gone all day without a thought about the Lord nor have we even spoken to him. Our minds are full of “JUNK” that can overtake and overshadow our devotion time with the Lord.

We serve a God that wants to fellowship with us more than just on Sunday mornings. If God could show you and I all that is happening in the spirit right now, you would start you mornings off with “heavy devotion.”

The Devil is after our souls, he takes no mornings, days nor nights off trying to devise a plan to take you and I down and out. David knew that he needed to spend some time with God during the morning because he knew that the enemy would have a trap set up for him somewhere that day.

How can you not wake up thinking about the one who saved your SOUL?

I go to bed thinking about him, I toss and turn thinking about him, when I wake up in the midnight hour to get a snack I am thinking about him, and when I wake up in the morning he is still on my mind. I could care less about all I have to do that day, because if I don’t have morning devotion with Jesus that day means nothing to me. I need morning devotion, I need to know what traps that Satan has devised that day against me, and spending time with the Lord in the morning can give me a clear understanding at how to handle this attack.

Saints of God, change up your morning routine, and spend some time with the Lord, he desires to hear from you, as you would desire to hear from him.
