Romans 8:39 says “ Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
As we close out 2011 and enter into 2012, there are several things that the Lord is requiring us to do. Things like forgiving others, loving one another in spite of disagreements and getting over small and petty stuff that has no impact in the Kingdom of God.
But there are some things that you and I should carry over into 2012, and that’s an “Spiritual Attitude” of not letting anything separate us from God. With all of the disappointments you’ve had this year, don’t allow them to separate you from your Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
I know it’s been rough and tough for you this year, but God has not forgotten about you nor has he forsaken you. It’s been problems after problems, sickness after sickness, death after death, cutback after cutback on every side of your walk with the Lord in this year. But with all of that, you and I must still stay faithful and prayerful in knowing that all of these things are working out for our good. God knows all these things have happened to you; it’s just been a testing of your faith in him. It’s important to keep the faith in knowing that “he is still able” to bring forth these desires that your heart longs for.
In spite of what has happened in 2011, let’s not allow those issues and circumstances stop you from going to church (or back), paying your tithes faithfully, praying for your church and its leaders, loving your brothers and sisters in Christ who have spitefully hurt you in some way, because 2012 is the year I believe that God’s people will “bounce back” in the name of Jesus Christ.
