Alberto A. Rivera, 37

CLINTON — Mr. Alberto A. Rivera, 37 of 902 Lakeview Drive, died Jan. 14, 2009 at UNC Hospital, Chapel Hill. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home.

Jackie C. Lassiter, 53

PRINCETON —  Jackie Cleveland Lassiter, 53, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2009, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be Saturday, Jan. 17 at 6 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home with Rev. Lewis Forsythe, Rev. Andy Stovall and Rev. Lewis Baker officiating.  

Interment will be Sunday, Jan. 18, at 2 p.m. at the Lassiter Cemetery near the family home.

The family will receive friends Saturday, Jan. 17 following the service at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at the home of his mother, 512 Lassiter Road, Princeton.

Mack T. McClenny, 79

CLINTON — Mr. Mack Thomas McClenny, 79, of 1311 B. Jasper Street, died Thursday, Jan. 15, 2009, at his daughter’s home.

Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home.

Evelyn A. Vann, 79

CLINTON — Mrs. Evelyn Alphin Vann, 79, of 111 Kerr St., died in Wayne Memorial Hospital in Goldsboro, Jan. 14, 2009.

The funeral will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan.18, at First United Methodist Church with Dr. Ed Gunter and the Rev. Charles Ray Jernigan officiating. A private burial will be in the Clinton Cemetery.

Born in 1929 in Sampson County, Mrs. Vann was the daughter of the late Roy and Ruby Royal Alphin. She attended East Carolina University and was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She was a retired employee with the Department of Social Services.

She is survived by two daughters, Lyn V. and husband, Felton Hobbs, Lisa V. and husband, Andy Pope, all of Clinton, five grandchildren, four step-grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren

The family will receive friends at Mrs. Vann's home.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 930 B. Wellness Dr., Greenville, NC 27834.

Ollie S. Hamoud, 85

ELIZABETHTOWN — Mrs. Ollie Shaw Hamoud, 85, of 2212 Martin Luther King Drive, died Tuesday, Jan.13, 2009, at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton.

A funeral will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 17, at Second Presbyterian Church in Elizabethtown by the Rev. Arnold G. Walker, Jr. Burial will follow in the Pone Cemetery in Elizabethtown.

Mrs. Hamoud is survived by two step-sons, James A. Himmons of Bladenboro and Ronald A. Himmons of Philadelphia, Pa., and one sister, Mattie Robinson of Elizabethtown.

Gracie E. McLamb, 70

GARNER — Mrs. Gracie Edwards McLamb, 70, died Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2009 at her home.

He funeral will be held 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 16, at the Capital Church, U.S. 70 Garner.

A graveside service will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 17, at Sunrise Memorial Gardens, Salemburg.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. at the church prior to the service.

Arrangements are being handled by Bryan Lee Funeral Home, Garner.
